Getting desperate?

So will Spurs turn to a right footed player to solve the left sided problem? By this I'm referring to the rumours surrounding Fulham's Steed Malbranque. Although I'm not the world's biggest expert on Malbranque, I do hope not. He's been around for a while and has never really set the Premiership on fire - so what's to say he's good enough for us? I'd rather we kept hold of Routledge and gave him and Lennon a flank each - even if it means one of them playing out of position.

Now Spurs are well known for their last minute signings just before transfer windows close, but let's hope we buy well this time around (á la Defoe) rather than some panic purchase (á la Rasiak).

We have just over 24 hours to go before the window shuts and I continue to repeat what I've said all summer, we need a right back and a left midfielder (with a left foot). The Chimbonda rumours seem to have resurfaced, so fingers crossed. As for the more problematic gap on the left wing, I don't think Downing will come off so I am relying on Levy and co to pull a rabbit out of the hat (well preferably an international footballer rather than a furry animal).

In other news, I hear that Young-Pyo Lee is staying put as he himself chose not to move to Roma. I'm pleased we've kept hold of him and hope that, despite the rumours in the press, Martin Jol wasn't trying to offload him.
