That time of year

Ever since being a child, I love the first half of August. It's that exciting time of year where football fans up and down the country are optimistic. Supporters have high hopes for the new season. Everyone is keen to see their team's new signings make impressive starts.

And the atmosphere around Spurs is as optimistic as ever, if not more so this summer than usual (despite selling one of our best players). I will be previewing the new season one day next week, but in the meantime, I wanted to share the buzz with other fans - both at Spurs and elsewhere.

And what's even more pleasing is that despite most of our rivals strengthening their squads, there seems to be a mini crisis developing down the Seven Sisters road. Will the Gooners lose Cole and Reyes as well as Judas and Berkamp this summer? It's pretty ironic that their best player decided to commit to the club, only to see several others get itchy feet.

I thought ARSEnal were incredibly average last season when Henry didn't play - maybe this year they'll just be downright poor when the French marksman isn't on the pitch. Edging them out of a Champions League qualification place next season (after coming so close this year) would be hilarious.
