The biggest on-off transfer of the month is back on

Glasgow Rangers have announced that Alan Hutton WILL be joining Spurs after all. Formalities are expected to be completed later today, which means there is a good chance he'll make his debut on Saturday at home to ManUre (presumably he'll sign too late to play against Everton tomorrow night).

According to Rangers' website, "Hutton cleared out his locker at Murray Park and said farewell to his Rangers team mates, wishing them every success." They are strong enough words to make it sound like this time it's definite.

As I wrote earlier today, I'm not 100% convinced about the club signing players that need so much persuading. However, I am convinced about Hutton's ability. He is the best player around that I hadn't heard of before this season. I've watched Rangers a couple of times and have been very impressed with him.

Obviously it now looks increasingly likely that Chimbonda is off, so I guess the question has to be is Hutton better than Chimbonda? In my opinion I believe he is. So too does Ramos and therefore we should be pleased with this bit of business.

Can we expect anymore arrivals before the end of the window? I'm not sure, but I have to say I'm pretty impressed with the three signings so far. Woodgate has proved himself in the Premier League, Hutton has proved himself at the highest level in Scotland and Gunter has huge potential having already won many plaudits in the Championship.
