Calling THFC season ticket holders: Still suffering cup final ticket hassles?

Wow - it's only taken me just over an hour since they officially went on sale, but I have now managed to purchase a ticket for the final. It's been a stressful two hours for anyone in my earshot, but it's finally sorted.

At 8:30am I tried to access the eTicketing website and had to put up with that stupid time bar thing - I just managed to log on at about 10 minutes ago (10:25am). It was worth the wait as the stadium plan system is the same concept they use for a WHL home game and therefore pretty straight-forward (when you finally get there).

At about 9:00am I started calling the Spurs ticket office to get myself in the queue ready for the 9:30am grand sale. I actually managed to get through to an operator who politely told me to call back at 9:30am (how naive). Between 9:25am and 10:20am I called the club about 763 times. Twice I managed to get in the queue (once I was number 51 and once I was 98) but on both occasions they disconnected the line. About 50 times I managed to get through to the ticket office but heard the recorded message that explained due to high call volumes I'd need to call back later. Although that was a little frustrating, I'd have been more annoyed if I had to pay for my phone calls as Tottenham will be making a pretty packet today at the expense of fans waiting on the phone.

I also tried another approach. Although it didn't work for me I'd recommend it to anyone out there who is still having trouble either logging on to the website or calling the club directly. Since the Spurs ticket line is actually outsourced to Ticketmaster, I called Ticketmaster directly on 0870 534 4444. Although there is another queue, I assure you that you do at least get through to an operator and it only took me 10 minutes. Although Ticketmaster don't advertise that they're selling tickets for the Carling Cup Final they are.

I was asked for my client reference number, and once I'd provided it they knew my address so I believe it is an alternative approach that would work. The only reason it didn't work for me is that their system crashed half-way through allocating me a ticket - so I was asked to call back in 20 minutes (by which time I'd purchased my ticket online).

Anyway, good luck to those of you who haven't yet got your ticket. It's only a matter of time - hang in there!

And as for ticket availability, there is obviously enough for all Spurs season ticket holders. However, I got the impression that there aren't that many of the £80 tickets left. I think the only ones are in the corners (in blocks 127 and 140). Obviously a lot of people won't want to pay that price, and in which case there are loads of other tickets left. There seemed to be plenty behind the goal and in the first five or six rows of the pitch-side blocks (i.e. 125 and 126).

Logged on at 9 am timed out at 9.31 logged straight back on and in 3 minutes got my ticket ,no hassle.

I logged in to website at 8am. was stuck in a queue which was fine as tickets not on sale till 9.30. By 9.59 i was the proud owner of my 6 tickets. In the place i wanted them. Don't use the phones. whilst u r phoning, people r getting tickets online!

Ive been online since 9.30 this morning. My bar keeps going backwards not forward. I'm still only about a third of the way there. This system is absolute shambles.

i was gutted went on at 8.30 qued for 1 hr40 mins, watching the little white bar! eventually got through and wanted 10 seats together in the £80 section no chance! looks like there the ones going 1st (not like we get to a final every year i guess).
anyhow got £66 instead so .just looking forward to the big day now ! 23 days to go... COYS

just hung on 4 20 mins and got thru to some bloke who"wasn't trained to deal with spurs tickets" - just gave me spurs phone no...........!!!!
lets hope the final itself isn't as frustrating

Sorry to the person who phoned Ticketmaster and was re-directed to the Spurs line. You obviously got someone really unhelpful. I first spoke to a woman with a sexy voice who was really helpful, and then when her system crashed she transferred me to her colleague who was also helpful before his system crashed too (he must have been gay as he asked me if I wanted tickets to the FA Cup final).

As for the Lilywhite member asking about loyalty points - I'm afraid I have no idea. We have an allocation of 31,204 (500 less than Chelski). I don't know how many season ticket holders we have.. I guess 22,000-24,000. So there will probably be 7,000-9,000 tickets available to members.

Logged on at 8.45 finally purchased tickets (not the ones we wanted) at 10.55. I may be old fashioned but wasn't it easier when the club did the work and you sent your voucher in?
and what about the "admin" charges??

After re-dialing about 20 times and then holding on from number 500in the queue.After about 1 hour I was able to buy 4 seats behing the goal.So it seems all good things come to those who wait.COYS

Thanks for the tip been trying to get online and through on the phones all morning tried calling ticket master on hold for 5 minutes then all booked and paid for no problems at all. Anyone currently waiting for the official channels try this one it is so much more efficient and you can even specify what block you want and they tell you the row and seat number!!! Thanks again

Booked direct through ticketmaster. Bit of a fiddle to get through to an operator, via the automated system but once through, was very helpful and sorted tickets at the front.

Thanks so much for the tip. Just called Ticketmaster and got my 4 tickets right behind the goal just where we wanted. Ignore the automated bit at the start and when you get through to somebody just explain that Spurs are muppets and their system is a joke and they sort it out for you. Thanks again!

With regards members applying, does anyon know how this will work?

Do you specify a maximum amount (Category) you're willing to pay?

For instance, if you say that you only want up to the £66 ticket, and they all go, but you qualify for a ticket on loyalty points, do you miss out?

They have stopped taking bookings now and put a 'call 0844 499 5000 our operators are not able to take the call' message up.

took me 2 hours to get through both on the internet and calling into the hotline and kept getting got cut off (7 times in total) even when I had reached number one in the queue!! but have a ticket now so worth while... but a shambles is correct. COYS

Thanks N7teen. I used the Ticketmaster route after waiting since the 18th century to get through on the official number and got two West End 66ers. I've also got three screens up so I can see how slowly the bars move across and I'm betting on the winner. But watch out. They've put a message up on another number saying you have to call back on the official line for tickets so they may have got wise to this short cut.

Thanks for the advice. After 2.5 hours of trying to phone spurs and online where the stupid guide bar didn't move, I called Ticketmaster and in less than 15 minutes had my two tix. Typical spurs to get this all wrong!

It's one per person but one person can buy for other season ticket holders as long as he has their boof reference number.

I logged on to the site at 9.35, and waited 3 hours before the booking screen appeared....was entering my credit card details and the screen dropped out. Called the ticket office number at 13.00 - at the second attempt got through ane went from queue position 40 to 9 in about 5 minute. In all was on the line for 15 mins an spoke to a helpful bloke called robert. top Man. Got me tickets!

Now that the dust has settled and most of us who applied today have got tickets, I spoke to the Spurs ticket office help line (no problem getting through) and a bloke told me that tickets will be dispatched next week after they have all been allocated. They charge £4+ to get them to us by special delivery because Wembley never issue duplicates under any circumstances. So even if you get mugged and have an official police report saying they were nicked, tough.
