The idiotic FA and other matters on N7teen's mind

The last time Spurs and Chelski competed at Wembley was before I was born, but following Everton's inability to follow in our footsteps and upset the odds last night, we'll see a repeat performance on 24th February in the Carling Cup final.

On the one hand I wanted Everton to win as I think they'd be much easier to beat than Chelski and hence the final hurdle between us and silverware would have been significantly less. However, we can't choose our opponents and quite frankly there are advantages of playing Chelski - for example there is more rivalry with them, and they'd be a more prestigious team to beat en-route to a trophy. And if my memory serves me correctly the last Spurs cup match against Chelski was when we thrashed them 5-1 in the 2002 League Cup semi-final (I'm sensing a theme here), whereas our last cup match against Everton would have been the 1995 FA Cup semi-final defeat at Elland Road.

Anyway, in other news I have discovered the reason for Emmanuel Adebayor's slight altercation with Nicklas Bendtner on Tuesday evening. Apparently the first thing Adebayor said to Bendtner when he came onto the pitch was "I'm only on because you are so s**t." Classic.

All this talk of how ARSEnal don't care about Tuesday's result is rubbish. Of course they care - the players certainly do. I'm surprised Webb didn't send Adebayor off for either a straight red or at least a second bookable offence when he hit Noodles in the face. I would like to put faith in the great institution that is the FA that they hand out a three match ban to Adebayor for violent conduct. Somehow I feel the FA will let football down once more.

As they have done with the one minute's silence in memory of the Munich air crash. I'm not a historian or a ManUre fan (obviously!) and I'm not overly familiar with the details of the Munich disaster. All I know is that 50 years ago a huge tragedy hit ENGLISH football. So on the fiftieth anniversary of the crash, when the ENGLAND team will be playing at Wembley, I am absolutely appalled at the jackasses from the FA who will not be arranging a minute's silence. Shame on them. They claim they can't trust the idiot supporters from ManUre's rival teams who won't keep quiet. Rubbish. The only idiots are the dinosaurs in grey suits at Soho Square.
